Sun City Center Emergency Squad

The Sun City Center Emergency Squad is the first point of communication and response in the event of a disaster. They are responsible for coordinating communications and serving as a hub for fire, police and medical first responders, as well as for any federal entities that would be involved in the event of a large-scale natural disaster such as a major hurricane.

Most significantly, the members of the SCC Emergency Squad are all volunteers. Each team of the squad embodies the spirit of service and contribution that has made, and continues to make, our society healthy and strong.

Everyday Heroes

As an expression of gratitude for the service of these heroic men and women, The Tomiak Foundation has proudly awarded these everyday heroes multiple grants in excess of $75,000 over the years.

Pictured are Susan and Arthur Bailyn at the SCC Emergency Squad’s annual Awards Dinner and a group photo of the SCC Emergency Squad.

The article details how the money from one of the Tomiak Foundation’s grants was appropriated.
